1. Scope
1.1 This test method covers the determination of the particlesize distribution of fine and coarse aggregates by sieving.
1.2 Some specifications for aggregates which reference thistest method contain grading requirements including bothcoarse and fine fractions. Instructions are included for sieveanalysis of such aggregates.
1.3 Units—The values stated in cither Sl units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Thevalues stated in each system may not be exact equivalents;therefore,each system shall be used independently of the other.Combining valucs from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
